About

As a ghostwriter, I’m more interested in telling your story than my own, but here’s some background on me.

I was born in London in 1965. Although I’ve enjoyed writing and playing with words for as long as I can remember, my first career choice as a small boy was to be an astronaut. Well, it was all the rage at the time. Later, as my love of playing music developed, my aspiration turned to being a successful record producer, shaping the sounds of the world’s biggest bands.

After giving myself a far too sensible career talk, I studied economics at university before working for two investment banks. Not quite what I had in mind, but the City was an exciting place to be in the second half of the 1980s and I still have many friends from those days.

Eventually it was writing that threw me a lifeline when the swollen stockmarket and overstretched economy began its inevitable shakeout. I spent most of the 1990s as a journalist at the Daily Mail newspaper, covering business - a wonderful period of my career that taught me about asking the right questions and telling sometimes complex stories in a simple and compelling way. I also gained a lasting insight into the way the influential tabloid media views the world and how it treats the people it writes about.

Twenty years in public relations followed, with senior roles in big name agencies and, in more recent years, my own. Throughout this time I ghostwrote for CEOs, famous individuals, politicians, heads of state, convicted criminals and personalities from all walks of life, always with a keen eye on enhancing, preserving or restoring their reputation.

So that’s me. All in all it’s been a great journey so far and I’ve been privileged to meet and collaborate with a huge number of fascinating, often inspirational, people.

You see? Your story is probably much more interesting. Sure, I could regale you with no end of hilarious anecdotes and plenty more detail. However, unlike you I’ve never achieved greatness, suffered disaster, overcome adversity, created enormous wealth, entertained global audiences, helped to save the planet or been decorated on the sports field or battlefield.

I hope to hear your experiences and ideas - and that we may work together before too long.
